Scottish homeowners looking to make use of renewable energy products such as wind turbines, alongside PV solar panels, may benefit from the launch of a new consultation.
Tomorrow (February 5th) will see proposals discussed concerning how current renewable energy planning requirements in the country could be amended.
At present, consent needs to be given to allow people to introduce the likes of air source heat pumps and wind turbines to their properties.
Stewart Stevenson, climate change minister for the Scottish government, believes it is important that people''s green ambitions are not hindered by the planning system.
''By cutting red tape in the planning system we can make it easier for households to generate their own clean, green energy,'' he noted.
Homeowners south of the border might also be encouraged to opt for wind turbine and PV solar panel installations in the near future, thanks to the feed-in tariff scheme, which is being introduced in two months.
