Renewable energy is one area that the Liberal Democrat Party is aiming to focus on, following the announcement of new economic plans.

In a development that might inspire people to introduce green building products such as PV solar panels to their properties, the political group has suggested that an eco-cashback initiative could be set up in the UK.

Meanwhile, renewable energy projects might be supported by the party''s plans to create a new National Infrastructure Bank.

Simon Hughes, shadow energy and climate change secretary for the organisation, believes that a number of benefits may arise as a result of the Liberal Democrats'' proposals.

''A green stimulus package will help boost investment in clean energy, reduce fuel bills and create thousands of new jobs,'' he stated.

Meanwhile, the government has this week unveiled a range of renewable energy recommendations of its own, through the publication of its Marine Energy Action Plan.
