Phase Change Material

Ceilings and partitions play a critical role in creating a pleasant, creative and dynamic working environment for individuals in commercial buildings. Products suitable for use in this area are developing all the time; for example under this section you will be able to view a new "phase change material" product from DuPont, which absorbs heat from, or releases heat into a room depending on ambient temperature; ensuring that comfortable room temperatures are maintained and reducing the need for expensive mechanical ventilation . You will also find a new partition system from Lifestyle Systems that allows for reuse and at end of life, and can be fully recycled.

Not all construction systems are fully sustainable at this point. For example, whilst you can now purchase ceiling tiles that are made from a high percentage of recycled materials such as the Danoline products we offer, they currently sit in grid systems that are made from steel or aluminium. We are all aware of the high energy consumption necessary to make these products, but at the moment there are no viable alternatives. However, we are striving, in partnership with leading manufacturers, to offer products which fit the sustainable criteria and are working with their development teams to bring these to you as soon as possible.
